6Port Outlet

6Port Power Distribution Adapter compatible for HLG-320H-24A

PSU Attachment

When I build more and more of my Light-Designs, I always disliked the way on how to power them. Most of my LED run on 24V and so I was looking for ways for a plug and play solution instead of wiring the poles via screw-terminals. There is a conflicting amount of barrel plugs on the market that vary in quality and sizes, what makes it hard to find matching ones. Most barrel plugs are rated for 24V, some go even as high as 48V. That and the round (and therefore polarity save) connection make them an ideal candidate for power distribution sockets. I early on settled on a single configuration and bought 100+ of the socket/plugs from the Internet, knowing, that I would use them for the next decade or two.

Now that I had all these parts, I applied them to various forms of outlets. Some of them can be found in my catalog. They range from obscure to nifty solutions. This one right here, is more of a elegant solution, as I designed the outlet as a direct attachment for the MeanWell PSU. This makes it a simple and uncluttered solution even for the rooms, where a certain degree of optics might be important. The housing gives you 6 distributed ports of 24V connected straight to the PSU. Just plug in one of the plugs and you have a solid connection that is (theoretically) rated for up to 5ish Amp per socket. Enough for a lot of Lights to brighten your day - or nights. I don't judge you.

I do not assume that you actually will use this exact STL model for your installations. The chances that you have the same barrel plugs as me, the same Voltage-demand as me and the same PSU manufacturer are slim. See it more as an idea, that you might want to adopt yourself in your own design.

This topic is related to Voltage and Currents that have the potential of harm. If you have no (or only a limited) knowledge about the dangers of power you should not proceed with this project. Make sure that you understand the dangers and take precautions. Ask someone with more knowledge to help you. Handle power with neglect can hurt you, start fires or kill people. Please dont take this Warning lightly. You are responsible for any damages to you or others. Continue on your own risk. Stay save. Get educated.

Beefy wiring

The PSU can provide up to 13A of power. We therefore should dimension the wires thick enough when doing a serial wiring. Or a thiner one when wiring parallel.

Screw Terminal

Connect the Outlets with crimped ends to a screw terminal to make sure, they can not get loose.

Variable Design

You can re-create this outline in the dimensions for your application need. Remix my design for your purpose.

Finished Look

Check for shorts (obviously) and stack it somewhere. Attaching new lights was never easier.

Assembly Parts:

Some are obligatory for the model to work, some are optional. It's up to you how close you will follow the instructions. Use what you have on hand and alter the model if necessary.
