Do you also have one of these kitchens, where the architect thought, the best position for a light would be in the center of the room, so that where ever you stand in your kitchen, you cast a shadow onto the cutting board/stove/sink? I needed some lightweight, unobtrusive light sources above my working areas in the kitchen and came up with a slim design with a PWM Controller and a contact free on off switch based in a distance sensor. This way I can turn the lights on and off regarding if my hand are wet or the item I have in my hand. The lights can be dimmed via the controller with a big stainless knob. I created several of these lights and placed them around my apartment where ever I needed a nice bright working light without cramping the room with some big light structures. The hanging design has a very sleek look and float above the surface.

The item is currently not released because of the exhaustive amount of custom parts involved. The PWM controller is an of the shelf part, where the potentiometer is desoldered to be separately placed. I also desoldered the caps and replaced them with more relyable Nichicon capacitors that I also soldered on sideways to save height (see photos). I tried to hide as much of the electronic wiring and connections as possible and searched for weeks for an aluminum knob for the potentiometer because I cared so much about the aesthetics while designing. All this combined makes this device a highly customized solution that might be hard to recreate on a whim.
