Pi Stand

Magnetic RaspPi POE Stand

Prolog

I am a big fan of the (newer version) of the POE+ hat for the RPi. The old one had some problems but the new +Version is IMHO a great successor. Finaly the Pi only needs a single Ethernet cable for power and data. That makes the deployment of a pi a breeze in a server rack environment. The only drawback for me was: Do I house it? Do i stand it? lay it down? How am I supposed to physically manage all these modules?

Some others apparently use a custom 1HE rack panel. But this makes it hard to access the modules. As my rack is still growing, I wanted a solution that leaves enough room for spontaneous arrangement changes while still making sure, it stays in a place, when I put it there without the cable moving the RPi around. I came up with a minimal solution, that does not take to much time to print and is rigid enough to hold the RPi in place while leaving enough openness for good airflow over both boards. equipped with 2 strong Neodymium magnets the holder can be places virtually everywhere in the rack: Inside the door, upside down under a shelf rack, vertically above the fans (good for heated tasks) or just simple standing upright on a lower shelf. Sometimes I even use it on the outside of my rack. The Mounting options are only limited by the metal surfaces I find in my shop. It is a great solution and therefore I want to share it with others. Free of charge.
