3D Printing

Will the model fit on my printer?

Good Question. I designed all my Models to fit on my Sindoh 3DWOX1 Printer. They have a relative commen printing surface of 210 x 200 mm (and 195mm in height). Chances are good that your printer has similar dimensions. It's a common size.

My Model is not printing correctly

First make sure that your printer is correctly working. Print something small, you know how it should come out. 3D Printer get out of drift at some point. You might need to re-align the printbed. Have you used a new Material? Is it dry or is it open since a couple of days? Have you tried printing it hotter? warmer? - Just make sure it is actually not your printer behaving weird unrelated to the stl model. If you think there is something wrong with the model, dont hestiate to write me an email. See below for details.

My Slicer shows weird clipping errors

I create my models with a cinemtatic 3d software and not a CAD tool per se. It just happens that I come from the artistic side and not the engeering side. Because of that, some of my model in the past sometimes notices glitches. But I only found out as soon as I started more and more printer. My current sindoh printer and sindoh slicer, never had problems slicing my STL with cinema4D exported STL. But I heard that people with 20.000$ printer, had sometimes weird problems with interpreting the STL files in their slicer. I recon there are still incompabilities when it comes to exporting and importing STL Files in various Software tools. The Software Mashlab exists for this very reason. If you notice any problems, please provide me with that information and a screenshot of your software showing the slicer hick-up and I can investigate the questionable area of the model. Sometimes it is a flipped N-Gone Surface Polygone. Sometimes a boolschen operation did not work and two objects have overlapping boxes or are fighting over a line. There are many vector errors that can occur potentially. Some slicer fix them on import and some need manual adjustment. I print since 2013 3D Mdoels on shapeways.com and the export routine is still the same. I only encountered 3 times in all these years a problem that was not automaticly fixed by the amazing shapways backend software. What I want to say is: I have a robust workchain build up for my software and hardware tools that works without misprints or problems. You might have a different experience bringing in my object models into your software/hardware toolchain. Be aware. And write me if you found a fubar in one of my models so I can improve the quality of model for everyone. Most are free.
